is it important to take guitar lessons from a master or can we learn online?
if you have a guitar "master" i’d go with that.

guitar is a complicated instrument and cant be learnt online. so better learn it personally from a guitar teacher

nopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ……not necessary to learn onlineeee

Those who learn online are learning to read tab
Being a master of reading tab and being a master of the guitar are 2 completely different things

There are many ways to learn. Finding what works best for you is a job in itself.
Most of those who take up an instrument quit at some point from frustration. Those who find a way to eliminate or control frustration are the ones who are successful. A good teacher can get the student through those frustrating times. The average or poor teacher will not. The player without help will most likely give up.
It is my recommendation that you get instruction. It may be private or class. Then evaluate your teacher and your progress after 6 or more lessons. Decide then if you want to continue or to look for help elsewhere. You may then decide to go it on your own. If you do, please consider getting help when you reach those frustrating times that are sure to come.

Guitar is not a complicated instruments as some suggest. Start online and see if you like it.
Secondly, once you start to get the hang of it and love the instrument, then you can consider taking courses. The reason I say that is because, if you take courses and know nothing about it, the first 4 courses is like throwing money out the window.
Get a feel for it. At least, when you start, you will already know how to finger the frets, use the pick etc..
Here is a VERY good site to begin for you and it can even tune your guitar

The teacher doesn’t have to be a "master," per se. He just has to have some years of teaching experience and know his instrument inside and out.
I tried teaching myself and it was boring. I found a guitar teacher and progressed a lot and had (and still have) fun.
I say lessons, but use the internet as a "second teacher."

The thing with guitar lessons is it’s all about personal preference and you own personal discipline level.
Private instruction is for someone who needs to have someone physically place their fingers where they need to be and stand over them making corrections. Also private instruction is good for someone who has trouble practicing when they should. Having to perform once a week at lessons pushes some people to practice when normally they might not have.
Online lessons are a lot cheaper than private lessons, you can jump online and learn and practice whenever you want and you can usually get lots of extra bonus software to help you practice.
This website has free lessons and bonus software to help you learn guitar notes by ear.

Learn from a master. Guitar teachers tend to have decades of teaching, and know what works and what doesn’t. But I’m not saying the internet is bad source, a lot of the stuff you find on the internet will be helpful, but I wouldn’t rely on it, here’s a notice a "guitar master" will probably agree with, don’t rely on TAB. If you can only play from tab, your not a musician, ANYONE can just read numbers.

If you can find someone that knows how to play and is willing to give you one-on-one instruction then that is the best way to go. Initially, you could form bad habits that could take months to correct later if you learn on-line.
An old country boy showed me 11 chords on a sheet of paper and helped me with rhythm. Other than those lessons, I taught myself the rest after learning how to read and write music notation. I never depended upon tablature or capos to further my expertise because I learned early that they inhibit, rather than build expertise.
Take lessons from someone who is articulate and knowledgeable of the guitar. You won’t regret it.

i play six instruments & i’ve learned them all from teachers in private lessons.
sure online videos are much easier, but you can’t be sure if your doing it right & you can’t ask a question when you don’t understand something.
guitar is very complicated. i’ve been playing for 6 years & i still mess up.
online classes are cool, but not the best.

It’s not that important to take lessons from a master. We can learn online and the guitar lessons are for free. http://www.guitarists.net/ this website would be definitely helpful for you.
