This second phrase blends melodic tones with the “just add water” minor pentatonic scale, then features several slick double-stops as the lick weaves its way into a major blues feel. Also noteworthy is the use of hammer-ons and pull-offs. This great combination, based in the traditional bar position, is really two or three terrific licks in one.
